Talking point: CoLab founders Adam Keating and Jeremy Andrews met while studying mechanical engineering at Newfoundland’s Memorial University. They got the idea for the company after noticing how cumbersome it was to do collaborative work with spreadsheets and PowerPoint during post-graduation internships. CoLab’s software lets engineers review designs and submit feedback without sending files back and forth. In 2019, CoLab became the first startup from Atlantic Canada to be accepted into the prestigious Y Combinator accelerator program. The company has raised US$40.66 million to date, according to PitchBook.
