Solari Capital, an investment firm founded by AJ Scaramucci, son of former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, led the July financing of the Trump family-linked bitcoin miner and digital asset treasury company. Anthony also personally invested a small amount, alongside life coach Tony Robbins, Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson and others, Fortune reported. (Fortune)
Talking point: U.S. President Donald Trump fired Anthony just a few days into the job in 2017, but the Scaramuccis were willing to put politics aside because they thought American Bitcoin could stand out in a crowded market, AJ told Fortune. AJ was also American Bitcoin president Matt Prusak’s college roommate. Since becoming a stand-alone entity from Canada-founded parent Hut 8 in late March, the firm has added more than 3,400 bitcoin to its reserve and more than quintupled its third-quarter revenue year over year, but its stock is down 22 per cent from its public debut in early September.
