The Burnaby-based Salesforce consulting company said it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by the San Francisco-based customer-relationship management platform. (The Logic)

Talking point: The companies did not provide financial details of the deal. Traction deferred all questions to Salesforce, which said it expects the deal to close in its first quarter ending April 30. Traction will become part of Salesforce Professional Services. The Canadian company said in a press release it will share more when the acquisition closes, but “for now, nothing is changing and it’s business as usual.” In December 2021, the U.S. growth equity firm PSG acquired Traction’s spinoff company, Traction Guest. At the time, Traction CEO Greg Malpass told The Logic that the company needs “to have the awareness to identify the fastest path to growth for our incubated companies” and that “there will be more [acquisitions of spinoffs] to come.”
