The Canadian payments company, which announced a $30-million round in July, didn’t disclose the terms of the acquisition, its fifth in the last two years. (The Logic)
Talking point: As part of the deal, NiceJob founder and CEO Lars Kristensen will join Paystone as the company’s chief product officer. The acquisition will allow Paystone, which produces customer-service software for businesses such as Irving Oil and The Source, to tap into NiceJob’s network of customers and give it new products to help its clients win more business, Paystone said in a press release. The deal, as well as Kristensen’s new role, suggest that Paystone is increasing its focus on software services, as opposed to just payment tools: NiceJob’s offerings include website design and other products that it says drive more customer traffic on search engines and social media.
