The San Francisco-based real estate technology company is hiring up to 100 employees in the city, set to be its first office outside the U.S. The company, led by former Shopify COO Kaz Nejatian, has positions open in departments including operations, finance, design, marketing, engineering and research. Talking point: Opendoor works by letting homeowners quickly sell their properties through the company, which then does necessary repairs on the homes before reselling them on its platform. Fahd Ananta, another Shopify alumnus who works for Opendoor, said on X Wednesday that “Toronto is the single greatest source of raw, high talent people in the world across almost every discipline.” However, the company doesn’t have immediate plans to offer its services in the city.
