Talking point: Ontario’s announcement comes one day after Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) chair Ian Scott said ensuring high-speed internet for rural Canadians may be a larger challenge then meeting broadband speed targets. Ontario’s announcement highlighted the provincial government’s call for the federal government to do more to improve internet access. Scott, for his part, urged smaller internet service providers to abide by the CRTC’s internet code of conduct.
