Shares in the Montreal-based payments company traded above the offering price of US$123.14 per share, after Nuvei raised the number of shares it was selling from 1.5 million to three million. (The Logic)
Talking point: Nuvei raised a total of nearly US$370 million in its IPO, which came just a year after it first went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange. That should give the company fresh capital to pursue its acquisition-focused growth strategy: Nuvei said in May that it is eyeing more deals after buying crypto-payments provider Simplex and online gaming company Mazooma. Meanwhile, another Canadian company, The Very Good Food Company, said today that it is filing to list on the Nasdaq to “enhance its investor profile” after going public in Canada in June 2020.
