The Toronto-based supply-chain management software company has filed a lawsuit against Menasha for allegedly breaching a software-licence agreement that caused Nulogy to “lose a significant financing opportunity.” The tech company also named Deloitte and Deloitte Consulting in its lawsuit, alleging they “induced” Menasha to violate the licensing agreement. The allegations have not been proven in court. (The Globe and Mail)
Talking point: Menasha, a company that also operates in the supply-chain management space, began using Nulogy’s software in 2008 on just one of its sites. By 2016, the agreement had been extended to use Nulogy’s technology across all of its operations. But Nulogy’s statement of claim says Menasha and Deloitte had in fact been designing a custom software solution since 2016, and solicited information from Nulogy without proper disclosure of intent, allegedly violating terms of the licensing deal. “This lawsuit is really about defending innovators and innovation,” said Kevin Wong, Nulogy’s COO.
