Venture capital investor Chris Neumann is sending 30 founders to San Francisco for a three-week immersion in the tech hub. The program, called Game On, will offer mentorship, workshops and networking, with the goal to help participants match Silicon Valley’s pace. (The Logic)
Talking point: The program is intentionally less structured than typical accelerators, which Neumann said tend to follow rigid itineraries without always exposing founders to what it’s actually like to work in the Valley and the tempo it requires. “My personal belief is that velocity is one of the most significant variables of early-stage startups, and in other parts of the world, it’s very difficult to inherently understand just how fast Silicon Valley operates,” said Neumann, who splits his time between Vancouver and the Bay Area. Partners for the program include Fasken Emerging Tech, Google Cloud and the federal Trade Commissioner Service. Applications open Nov. 15, with the program running in January.
