Employees who are part of Unifor Local 414 at 27 Metro stores in the Greater Toronto Area will vote on whether to ratify the new agreement Thursday, which would end their month-long strike. (The Logic)
Talking point: The union said details of the new agreement would not be released to the public before being presented to its members at the ratification vote. The 3,700 workers already rejected a prior tentative agreement before waking off the job on July 29. Last week, Metro filed a labour complaint and was granted a temporary injunction Tuesday to restrict picketing at its distribution warehouses.
