Boston-based Bain will open the office, its second in Canada, in October, in an effort to expand its business in Quebec. The initial team of 30 will be led by consulting veteran Matthieu Vigneron, Bain spokesperson Dan Pinkney said in an email. (The Logic)

The rise of AI is both a boost and a challenge for the management consulting industry, since companies want guidance on adopting the technology, but can also use it to handle tasks they would normally hire consultants for. Desjardins, one of Bain’s Montreal clients, hired the consulting firm to implement a $2 billion dollar per year tech transformation it embarked on in 2021.
