The Ontario auto-parts giant has hired two external firms to review its historical records in response to Peel Police, who have charged founder Frank Stronach with 18 offences involving 13 women, including rape, sexual assault and forcible confinement between 1977 and this past February. Talking point: Stronach, who has denied the charges and said he would provide data to contradict the claims, stepped down as chairman of Magna International in 2012 and is no longer involved in the company. Two of his accusers described meeting him while employed at his farm and at the auto-parts firm, respectively. Magna said in an email to The Logic that its “targeted” review has uncovered one already-public settlement of a harassment allegation against Stronach and his horse-racing business Magna Entertainment, but if more turn up, it will co-operate with authorities.
