The Maryland-based quantum computing company said the team from Entangled Networks will join it to launch IonQ Canada, which CEO Peter Chapman said “will help us better support the thriving quantum computing community in Canada” and collaborate more with IonQ’s partners and customers. (The Logic)
Talking point: The companies did not disclose financial details of the deal, which Chapman said brings “some of the top experts in quantum architecture” and software tools to IonQ. Entangled provides hardware and software solutions to enable multi-quantum processor computation. Its partners include MaRS, Microsoft and IBM Quantum, according to its website. Founded by Aharon Brodutch and Ilia Khait, it raised $1.1 million in an early-stage round in May 2021, according to PitchBook. IonQ has been developing its quantum networking hardware and expects to do an early-version demonstration this year between two quantum computers.
