It acquired Ottawa-based 2Keys in November 2019, banking on its position as a platform shared—and owned—by the country’s major financial-services providers. SecureKey’s Verified.Me system launched in May 2019 with the Big Six banks plus Desjardins, and many federal government departments offer it as a sign-in option for residents trying to access government services. It’s also expanded into non-financial services, serving as an identity tool for health-care networks.
