Talking point: The firm was born of a merger between Vancouver-based Imagia Cybernetics and Montreal-based Canexia Health in February 2022. At the same time, the new company announced it had raised $20 million from the Business Development Bank of Canada and other investors. In June 2022, it announced a $17.8-million investment from the Digital Technology Supercluster and others. Imagia Canexia, which did not immediately respond to The Logic’s request for comment, had more than 60 staff as of June, according to PitchBook. Prior to the merger, Canexia Health had raised venture capital and grant funding from the supercluster, the National Research Council Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society.
