North Vancouver, B.C.-based Jetson, which makes electric heat pump systems for homes, said it will use the money to expand its presence into more U.S. states. Its product is already installed in homes in Colorado, Massachusetts and New York, as well as Vancouver. (The Logic)
Talking point: Stephen Lake co-founded Jetson in 2024. Lake previously co-founded North, a Kitchener, Ont.-based smart glasses maker whose investors included Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and Sam Altman, now CEO of OpenAI. Google acquired North in 2020 in a deal reportedly worth roughly US$180 million and folded the North team into its operations. Jetson said it will also use the money to create more products. Jetson’s first product is a heat pump system that can also cool a home through existing ductwork, and the company claims it costs 30 to 50 per cent less than traditional solutions. Silicon Valley-based venture firm Eclipse led the Series A round, and was joined by new and existing investors such as Garage Capital and Activate Impact.
