Musk reportedly requested a SpaceX flight attendant give him a full-body massage onboard a 2016 flight during which he allegedly “exposed his genitals,” and “touched her and offered to buy her a horse if she would ‘do more,’” according to documents Business Insider obtained. (Business Insider)
Talking point: SpaceX paid US$250,000 to settle the sexual misconduct claim against him that the flight attendant filed two years later, alleging her refusal hurt her career at the company. A mediator settled the claim, and the agreement included non-disclosure and disparagement clauses for the flight attendant. Via Twitter, Musk called the claims “utterly untrue.” He also said “the attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens” but that it won’t stop his fight for free speech, alluding to his deal to purchase Twitter for US$44 billion. It’s “temporarily on hold,” Musk said last week, as he looks into the platform’s prevalence of spam and fake accounts. Twitter, however, told staff Thursday that it’s moving forward as planned. Twitter shares have seesawed during the drama.
