Both are reportedly exploring the Canadian market after Ottawa slashed its 100 per cent tariffs on some Chinese-made EVs. Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu met the chair of Bombardier China. As Politico reported, the C-suite leaders who met Carney (with Joly and Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson) included Fred Hu of Chinese investment firm Primavera, Dai Houliang from the China National Petroleum Corp., and Lei Zhang, CEO of Envision.
