Talking point: CoinSmart, founded in 2018, says it has roughly 120,000 users and year-to-date revenue of $7.3 million, already double last year’s figure of $3.6 million. The offering on the Neo will help CoinSmart accelerate its growth in Canada and abroad, where it operates in more than 40 countries, the company said in a release. The listing comes as prices for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether are near all-time highs—a boon for crypto exchanges, which make most of their money from trading fees. Shares in U.S.-based Coinbase, one of the few publicly listed crypto exchanges, have surged by nearly 50 per cent on the Nasdaq in the last month, after falling below their IPO price earlier this year.
