Talking point: With deep pockets, Intuit Ventures has the potential to become a major new player in the fintech landscape. According to TechCrunch, the fund will mainly participate in Series B and C stages, with no limit on potential investments. “We are boundaryless in terms of funds that we will be putting into this,” Intuit’s CEO, Sasan Goodarzi, told TechCrunch. “We have told [Intuit Ventures’ leaders] to bring us the investments until the time we say, ‘no,’ but I don’t think there will ever be a ‘no.’” Intuit Ventures’ first investment was in Toronto-based Clearco, which raised US$215 million in a SoftBank-led fundraising round in July.
