Nine space-related companies headed to the United Kingdom this week for a trade mission organized by the British government, which wants to expand commercial ties with Canada as it commits £500 million to help its home-grown space sector grow and compete internationally. (The Logic)
Talking point: Multiverse Computing, a Spanish quantum software company with an office at the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto, offers compressed AI models that use less energy, generate less heat and can run on much smaller devices—such as in space. Its senior business development manager, Catherine-Audrey Poliquin, said joint ventures with other countries can help Canadian firms scale up and succeed. “It doesn’t mean the Canadian business will leave,” she said while on the trip. “It just means we can benefit from each other and the talent-sharing, the knowledge-sharing could just be exponential.”
