The Saskatoon-based resource giant said Monday it will supply nearly 22 million pounds of uranium ore concentrate to India’s Department of Atomic Energy from 2027 to 2035. Talking point: Negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, which Ottawa said could more than double bilateral trade to $70 billion by 2030, have resumed as tensions have thawed. “It is the expansion of a valued partnership with new ambition, focus and foresight,” Carney said Monday alongside Modi, who credited Carney for the boost in co-operation. Both countries also pledged “intensified engagement” aimed at securing Canada’s first long-term arrangement with India on liquefied petroleum gas.
