Talking point: BlackBerry announced several collaborations this week to court software developers at Las Vegas’s consumer electronics show, CES. The company is in the midst of a restructuring, which includes selling a major cybersecurity business and revamping its QNX division to appeal to new industries beyond the auto sector. CIBC analysts hiked their price target for BlackBerry’s stock in a research note, noting the company has hit the point where it “can credibility grow and be profitable.” They also praised changes to its board of directors. BlackBerry’s New York-listed shares were up about 11 per cent Monday.
