Talking point: It’s a modest order for a market where, according to Ballard, 50,000 new buses are built each year. IQAir’s 2020 World Air Quality Report found India was home to 35 of the 50 most polluted cities out of 106 countries, with New Delhi showing the worst air quality—more than double the level of Beijing, by one measure. As the Indian government considers hydrogen fuel as a potential pollution solution, the opportunity to work with India’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles could be “groundbreaking” for Ballard, said chief commercial officer Rob Campbell in a statement. Shares closed up about 1.2 per cent Friday.
