Talking point: Last month, the federal government suspended SDTC—the country’s largest source of financing for early-stage cleantech—after a third-party investigation identified cases of conflicts of interest at the agency. A group of former and current SDTC employees initially made the allegations. Conversations between a whistleblower and a senior ministry official show the department was considering ousting some of the board and management in late summer, according to tapes shared with the CBC. However, SDTC’s leadership team still remains in place.
