Talking point: The shutdown lasted only three days, but dealt a major blow to Air Canada’s annual forecast. The airline now estimates its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization on an adjusted basis will be between $2.9 billion and $3.1 billion, down from an earlier projection of $3.2 billion to $3.6 billion. More than 10,000 attendants represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees walked off the job, causing a $430 million revenue hit from cancelled flights, and $90 million in reimbursements and other costs.
