The poll, conducted by Abacus Data, found that 60 per cent of Canadians believe it’s likely that foreign governments will try to influence the federal election in the fall. Talking point: The information follows a Nanos Research survey from earlier this week, which found that 60 per cent of Canadians expected Facebook to negatively the next federal election. It also follows a CIRA report from Wednesday, which said that 70 per cent of Canadians are worried that fake news could impact the election. However, as my colleague Murad wrote earlier this week, Twitter recently expanded its political ad rules ahead of upcoming elections in the European Union, India and Australia, but Canada was not included in those plans.
