Canadians now have access to ChatGPT challenger Claude via its web-based interface, iPhone app, secure workspace and API, which allows developers to integrate Claude into apps and other software products. A paid version grants access to all Claude models, five times more usage than its free offering and early access to new features for $28 per month. (The Logic)
Talking point: Anthropic markets Claude as a safety-conscious alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, training its models on publicly available information and licensed data. Jan Lieke, former co-head of OpenAI’s safety-focused “superalignment” team, recently left that company and joined Anthropic. Canada has been slower to gain access to some AI chatbots, such as Google’s Gemini, which launched in the country in February, seven months after the company rolled it out in 230 other countries.
