Talking point: The Prime Minister’s Office said the CEOs who joined the conversation were all members of the Business Roundtable, a powerful U.S. corporate lobby group. The PMO said Carney also had separate meetings with representatives from BlackRock, General Atlantic, Blackstone, Morgan Stanley, Apollo and again with JPMorgan Chase, but did not share the names of those with whom he met. In a speech at the Economic Club of New York, Carney told the business audience Canada is looking for a “new partnership” with the U.S., stressing North American integration in manufacturing and Canada’s reliable supply of energy resources. “Canada strong will help make America great again,” he said.
