Talking point: Remitian co-founder Solon Angel, who previously founded the Ottawa tax auditing startup MindBridge, has moved the company to Miami after working out of Ottawa. In an interview posted by tech non-profit Refresh Miami, Angel said Remitian has grown quickly in that city because of its proximity to multiple markets. The company uses AI to help companies automate the maze of government logins and bank portals involved in paying taxes across multiple jurisdictions. AI is widely predicted to bring massive change to the accounting industry—although AI-generated errors are eating into any efficiencies, as my colleague Anita has reported.
