The company’s mine and mill in northwestern Ontario, a joint venture with Mitsubishi, will be reviewed under a new provincial framework that the government says will cut the project approvals process time by 50 per cent. (The Logic)

Talking point: Chief Brandon Rae of North Spirit Lake First Nation said the new fast track, approved under a framework which the province called “One Project, One Process,” should be halted for Frontier Lithium because his community is  overloaded and the process has no “off ramp.” CEO Trevor Walker said he does not intend to force the project on anyone and supports increases to government funding for First Nations to help them with the review process. Meanwhile, the province signed a deal with Webequie First Nation to build a road to the Ring of Fire mineral hub, a project that has divided Indigenous communities.
