Talking point: The suspension of Pornhub’s account comes just over a month after both Visa and Mastercard suspended payment services to TrafficJunky, the advertising arm of Pornhub’s Montreal-founded, Luxembourg-based parent company MindGeek. In August, a U.S. federal court judge ruled that a lawsuit against Visa for providing services to TrafficJunky could proceed, saying the credit-card giant “lent to MindGeek a much-needed tool—its payment network—with the alleged knowledge that there was a wealth of monetized child porn on MindGeek’s websites.”
