Ads are still a small contributor to Apple’s business; the firm had US$365 billion in net sales revenue in its 2021 fiscal year ended Sept. 25, 2021, and employed some 154,000 people. Fellow tech giants Meta (US$115 billion in 2021), Google (US$209 billion) and even Amazon (US$31 billion) all make significantly more from ads. But Apple is gaining market share, according to research firm Appsummer.
