That’s in keeping with his style as pope—as well as his approach to engaging the business community. Francis condemned greed, once calling unbridled capitalism “the dung of the devil.” But he also worked hard to engage business leaders on issues he cared about, meeting with the CEOs of the world’s largest companies and forming alliances with major corporations on environmental causes.
