Talking point: Francis’s funeral will be simpler than previous papal rites and will focus on his role as a disciple of Christ rather than “a powerful person,” according to a release from the Vatican. That’s in keeping with his style as pope—as well as his approach to engaging the business community. Francis condemned greed, once calling unbridled capitalism “the dung of the devil.” But he also worked hard to engage business leaders on issues he cared about, meeting with the CEOs of the world’s largest companies and forming alliances with major corporations on environmental causes. He also urged executives to make decisions that benefit young people and the poor.
