Talking point: Round13 is aiming to raise an additional US$30 million for the fund, which will be led by Satraj Bambra and Khaled Verjee. It launches at an uncertain time for crypto, with most tokens down substantially from their highs and the prospect of additional regulation looming. Round13 said it hopes to be involved with shaping regulation in Canada through membership in the Canadian Web3 Council, a newly launched lobbying group whose backers also include Wealthsimple and Dapper Labs. While the fund’s investments won’t be limited to Canada, it said it plans to support the growing number of developers working in the sector here.
