In a pitch to possible acquirers, the electric-vehicle maker estimates it will turn a profit if it makes 550 electric buses a year at a Quebec manufacturing plant. (The Canadian Press)

Talking point: The business plan is a step away from its e-commerce delivery trucks, which were once the envy of the industry thanks to a deal with Amazon in 2021. The automaker was granted creditor protection in hopes it could find a buyer, after sluggish funding programs for electric school buses battered its business. The company’s court documents indicate that Lion  has approached 136 prospective acquirers and another 11 companies that could buy parts of its business. The company plans to finalize a deal for creditor protection in April.
