Talking point: Gieskes was also replaced as board chair by Arnaud Ajdler, the company’s lead independent director, but will remain on the board. The shakeup follows pressure from activist investor Engine Capital, which has accused the company of underperforming and strategic missteps. Dye & Durham has denied those claims but said the U.S. hedge fund’s campaign has devalued its business and jeopardized a potential sale of the company. The firm’s board resigned en masse in December and appointed six Engine Capital nominees, which included Singh, Gieskes and Ajdler.
