Talking point: “We’d like to be a partner of trust and choice in the U.K.,” Emond told the Financial Times, highlighting the “huge opportunity” to invest in the forthcoming slate of infrastructure projects in their early stages. Caisse already has about $32 billion invested in the market, with stakes in Wales-based electricity firm First Hydro Company and London Array Offshore Wind Farm in the Thames Estuary. Emond said he expects to grow the fund’s broader European portfolio from about 15 per cent to up to 17 per cent, as it eyes assets in the energy-transition space.
