The Medicine Hat-based firm makes reusable remotely piloted winged aircraft that carry sondes, the types of devices that single-use weather balloons carry up into the stratosphere to take atmospheric readings. The Business Development Bank of Canada didn’t reveal the amount of the investment or its terms, but Landing Zones said it will use the money for research and development, scaling production, and commercializing the next generation of its technology.
