Talking point: The political backlash cites an investigation by Radio Canada which interviewed struggling Lion Electric investors. The report said that there have been at least 20 complaints about Lion Electric to the Autorité des marchés financiers. Molson Coors, which was featured in Lion Electric’s promotional material, told Radio Canada that it never had a deal to purchase any vehicles. A former sales manager also told the news outlet that some of the blockbuster orders announced by Lion Electric let customers back out. Lion Electric said that it complies with securities laws but wouldn’t comment further on the allegations.
