Vention Inc. of Montreal raises $17 million in financing led by Bain Capital Ventures

The Montreal scale-up—which lets clients design and build custom automation equipment—was also backed by White Star Capital, Bolt Innovation Management and Real Ventures. The fast-growing company closed a $3.5-million seed round last January; since then, it’s grown its workforce from nine to 44 employees and revenues have increased by 600 per cent, according to founder and CEO Etienne Lacroix.
