Canada’s largest university will sell all direct investments in fossil-fuel companies within the next 12 months, and divest indirect holdings by the end of the decade. The $4-billion endowment fund will also allocate 10 per cent of its portfolio—$400 million to start—to sustainable and low-carbon investments by 2025, and pledges to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
