Wei Chengyi, owner of the Foody Mart grocery chain that has stores in Ontario and B.C., plans to integrate a payment system by Toronto-based SnapPay, which uses Chinese-made facial recognition technology. The system would capture an image of shoppers to verify their identity and process their purchase. SnapPay plans to have the system available for retailers by early 2020. (National Post)
