The agreement has the Montreal-based company supplying spodumene concentrate from its Whabouchi mine, which sits on the world’s second-largest lithium deposit, to the automotive giant for use in electric car batteries. Nemaska will eventually provide lithium hydroxide to Ford once the mining company has completed work on its lithium transformation plant in Bécancour, Que., which is expected to open in 2026.
