The point-of-sale company’s Toronto location will be its third office in Canada and 12th in total. (The Logic)
Talking point: Lightspeed has spent much of the past year focusing on its international expansion plans. Earlier this month, it bought German firm Gastrofix for US$101 million. That firm—along with its July 2019 acquisition of Switzerland-based iKentoo—gave it a strong European position. On Monday, CEO Dax Dasilva told Le Journal de Montreal his company’s success would have been impossible in any other city. Lightspeed said its new office will be at 410 Adelaide Street West. The company currently has one Toronto-based job posting up and about 20 staff in the city, according to LinkedIn data.
