Talking point: The company said the tool could place small businesses on equal footing with large e-commerce giants, which have had a distinct edge over their smaller rivals during the pandemic. “This new tool enables independent businesses to discover new products, more easily sell online and make better use of their capital to strategically increase order frequency,” said CEO Dax Dasilva. The new service follows a North American acquisition spree for the company, which bought restaurant-software maker Upserve for US$430 million in December, after announcing plans to buy ShopKeep for US$440 million a month earlier.
