Canadians are the worst carbon emitters among the people in 10 countries studied by Hot or Cool, a German NGO. In a report meant to show what lifestyle changes could bring greenhouse-gas emissions down to levels that would stave off the worst of climate change, Hot or Cool said the average Canadian’s lifestyle leads to emissions of 14.2 tonnes of CO2 a year—and that by 2030, we need to get that down to 2.5 tonnes.
