The Prime Minister’s Office published supplementary mandate letters for all cabinet members on Friday afternoon, outlining priorities for the pandemic and subsequent economic-recovery effort. François-Philippe Champagne’s tasks him with monitoring sector-level effects of COVID-19 and adjusting supports accordingly; launching the $3-billion Net-Zero Accelerator Fund set up to finance industrial decarbonization and clean-technology scale-up projects; and figuring out which technologies to back via the $1.75-billion Universal Broadband Fund, including low-Earth-orbit satellites, specifically. (The Logic)
