Alberta tech sector grew nearly 150% since 2018: Study

A new Alberta Enterprise Corporation report shows the province now has 3,083 tech companies, up from 1,238 in 2018 and just 927 tech firms in 2012. Fifty-eight per cent of firms were based in Calgary and 30 per cent were in Edmonton. The study found that almost 40 per ent of startups had at least $1 million in annual revenue, up 66 per cent from 2018, and almost a quarter of firms had raised a Series A or later financing round. (The Logic)
